New Hampshire Views

Day 7: New Hampshire

Today was driving through the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. Again this was pretty much driving slow all day and looking at leaves. However, this Forest has some designated spots you can pull off the road to see some amazing views. Coming from the West/Vermont, the first half of the forest doesn’t have this, the East side does. You can drive a little faster there. There is a town called Lincoln that you can pick up a map for the East side and it shows all the main sight seeing places.

We got VERY lucky with when we went. Peak leaf season is when the leaves are 80% changed. We were there when it was about 70%. Could not have planned it better. Also the skies were crystal, clear blue and looked amazing with the fall colors. Rent a roomy car, but snacks and water, and be patient while driving. I stopped at any place I thought was pretty, main attraction or not, laid on the rocks in the Rocky Gorge, I just wanted to take my time, put the phone down, and enjoy my surroundings.

The rest of the day was driving to Bar Harbor, Maine for our next stop.
