Since it is winter here in Minnesota, I have been doing a lot of backing and cooking. As you know I get a lot of the recipes I want to try from Pinterest. I think this year I am going to attempt to try 3 new recipes each month. Kind of a Julie and Julia type endeavor. We will see if it works out. I will keep you up dated on what I try and what works out.
Since my last food post I have tried:
Salted Caramel Butter Bars : Tasted good, but were very rich. There is a lot of butter in there, which isn’t a surprise because of the name.
Lemon Loaf : So good! The frosting was a little runny, so keep refrigerated and don’t let it set out too long before eating your slice.
Baked Sweet and Sour Chicken : This is may favorite when I am ordering Chinese. For this recipe I was maybe use a little less red wine vinegar. It had a strong smell and taste to in. The sauce is also very thin, just keep that in mind. All together it cooked well and tasted good.
Chicken Fried Rice : I made this with the Sweet and Sour Chicken above. Worked out great together.
Grilled Shrimp with Garlic Cilantro Sauce : Try them as shrimp tacos!!!!
Shrimp Taco Bites : These were good, but I made the mistake of trying to eat them after getting my lip pierced, so my lip and jaw didn’t like the crunch of the cup. I topped them with some Sweet Chili Sauce (that you can get at Target) and I liked them.
Honey Soy Chicken : Very good.
Lumberjack Breakfast Casserole : SOOOOO good. It pretty much covers all of the breakfast foods in one shot. Yummy Yummy.
Bacon and Egg Toast Cups : Good. Easy to make and easy to snag a few as you are heading out.
